Ivy frowned as she ran a hand through her dark hair, the other distractedly running over the spines of the age old books in front of her. Even as she searched, one could tell her mind was far, far away instead of focusing on the titles in front of her. A Guide to Literature, A Study of Psychology, Beasts of the Wizarding World, Spells of Ancients. No, none of them seemed to call to her today. They were nothing but lifeless papers bound together. On a normal day these words would have beckoned invitingly towards her, and she would pick up one and spend hours reading up the glorious information. But now...

Her fingers stopped, landing on a decisively smaller shape of a book that didn't belong there. Who would put this between the case studies? For in her hand was a novel, the cover page depicting a boy reaching out towards a girl, who was turned away from him. What is this? Her eyes roved the cover, searching for the title. Seven Months That was it. Despite herself, Ivy found that it strangely appealed to her, and she flipped it around to read the summary.

It was another cliched love story, as there were many others, and she found herself starting to grow cynical again. How could a person open herself up so vulnerably towards someone she had barely met? Wasn't the character afraid of being betrayed? Or taken advantage of? The possibilities of downfall were just too many. "Aren't you scared?" The words left her lips in a dry whisper as she collapsed onto the ground into a cross legged position, staring intently at the back as if it would give her the answers she needed.

How can you trust so easily? Why do you feel like this? Why do I feel like this? But as expected, the book gave her no answer.

Ben heard someone whispering from the other side of the shelf. He happened to be looking for a good book himself. He must get his mind off of this madness he is going through. He needs to talk to someone, older, wiser.. A seventh year? Eh... he thought, No Seventh Year guys want to talk to me.. about anything. "Hello?" he said, after he heard the whispering, he walked to the other side of the shelf. He saw a girl looking for a book as well. She seemed a little upset and frustrated. He wondered what was up.

The sounds of footsteps, muffled by the carpeted floor, reached her ears before his voice did. It wasn't someone she knew, that was for certain. Puzzled, Ivy lifted her dark eyes from the book clutched tightly in her hands, and they widened as they landed on a boy, perhaps a year or two older than her. What did he want? Ivy didn't want to seem rude, but people don't usually talk to strangers they came across in the library. Tilting her head quizzically, she twitched the corners of her lips up in a small polite smile, "May I help you?" Ivy queried, trying not to let her previous emotions rise up to the surface. Who was this boy? She certainly hadn't seen him around yet, which said a lot. With an odd habit of people watching, it was hard to come across a person she had yet to observe in this school. But then again, it was no small private institute either.

Ben looked at the girl a little confused. "I'm Ben Redwind," he said. "Orbis Terrarum Fourth Year." he stated. He then smiled and nodded. "I heard a noise come from over here. Are you okay?" he asked.

Ivy raised an eyebrow, silently pondering upon why would he looked so confused all of a sudden. Perhaps he had thought her to be someone else. Yes, that was most likely it. Now about his name, where had she heard it before? Ivy didn't listen in much on school talk and gossip- rumors were hardly credible, but she couldn't help but think she may have heard this name once or twice. Shrugging it off, she replied simply, "Ivy," Just to be polite, she shifted slightly on the floor, petting the empty space next to her. It certainly was very straining for the neck to keep looking upwards.

"Define, okay." The girl sighed, shifting the book slightly so the synopsis was out of sight, "I may be perfectly fine to someone, but completely out of it to another." At this, she frowned slightly, shaking her head to clear her thoughts.
