PostSubject: Lesson [Closed]   Tue Jan 22, 2013 10:33 pm

First topic message reminder :

Merri took a seat at the front of the class then realizing it was early took out a book and began to thumb through the pages. Turning a match into a needle, I wonder how hard that could be. The girl took out her wand and began softly mumbling the incantation and practicing the correct wand motion.

This was confusing. What was the difference between Scribblifor and concentrating upon an object to make it transform into another? Or were they just different ways of doing the same thing? She pondered upon asking the professor about the subject or going along with what everyone else was doing and try turning the fork into a quill with the spell. Before she could do either of those, though, she heard Merri let out a horrified scream from behind her.

She turned around to find a spider on Merri's desk and the girl had ran toward the back of the room, squished against a corner shivering and shaking and hiding her face in her hands. It didn't take long for her to understand what had happened; Merri wasn't so good at transforming objects at the first try, so instead of turning into a quill the fork turned into a spider. Forest understood Merri's terror; she too would've been shocked to find an ugly spider on her desk, but she wouldn't run away as if she'd seen a ghost. She would've killed the bug. She wanted to take out her textbook and slam it against the spider, but wasn't sure if she could do that since it was the professor's property.

Turning around to face the professor, she asked candidly, "Permission to kill the spider?" Really, forks weren't hard to replace. They were everywhere; just look around in the kitchen and you'll find millions of them.

The spider stopped in front of Misha, while she continue to clap her hands in amusement. "Ahhh.. Mr. Spidey, why did you scare Merri?" Misha asked the spider raising her index finger. "No killing! That's a poor spidey" she said crossing her arms when the Professor approved Forest's idea to smashed the spider.

"Here. Let me free you." Misha held the spider on her palm and stood up from her chair. She walked carefully towards the window and put the spider down and tap it's back lightly so it could finally go away. "Goodbye Mr. Spidey" Misha waved with a smile as the spider finally walked away.

Then Misha approached Merri "Ah that Spidey scared you? Fear no more! Mr. Spidey's gone" she said reaching out for Merri's hands.

Merri pointed her wand vaguely in the direction of the spider, ready to try and deal with the problem, when Forest spoke up and asked to kill the demon creature. Merri sighed in relief then froze as she heard Misha take over and deal with the spider. Please just go away Mr. Spider. "Thank Goodness!" She released the breath of air she had been holding then took both of Misha's hands and helped herself up to her feet again.

"MISHA IS MY HERO!" She hugged the girl tight and smiled. "Thank you both for helping deal with the spider."

Misha hugged Merri back and stroke her hair. "There there. Misha's going to protect Merri" she said confidently. Misha grabbed Merri's right arm and pulled her back to her seat. "Let's try this one more time?" Misha said as she lifted her fork and placed it on Merri's desk.

"Professor! May I have another fork please?" Misha raised her hand and asked the Professor since she gave hers to Merri.

The Professor nodded and Misha went up ahead to get another fork from the Professor's desk. Misha went back to her seat and laid the fork on her desk. Concentrating on the object Misha finally said "Scribblifor!" and waved the wand. The fork stood up on just a few centimeters above the desk, jerked and turned into a quill. Misha was so delighted upon seeing that she had made another success. "Yey! Look look, I did it" Misha said to everyone around her as she held the quill in her left hand and the wand on her right hand.

She elbowed Merri twice and said "Come on, you try it" then looked at Forest and asked "How's yours?" with her usual warm smile.

Merri let herself be led back to her seat, still feeling a little weary over her last spell. She stared down at the fork with a slight glare. If I keep messing up spells like this nobody will take me seriously as a witch. She chewed on the bottom of her lip, not really feeling up to giving the spell another try. What if I mess up again? Will they keep letting me try?

She was just about ready to give up and head back to her dormitory when she heard Misha request a new fork. Merri watched the girl perform the spell that had been instructed, and just like her attempt the fork stood up! She flinched, waiting for the object to turn into a mean nasty spider, but it did not. Instead the fork was now a quill! Merri grinned proudly at Misha and clapped. "You're good at this class!"

Feeling less jumpy about the spider incident she pointed her own wand at the fork before her and repeated as confidently as possible, "Scribblifor!" The fork stood up and straighten out then bent into the shape of a gorgeous black raven quill. Resting her wand on her desk, Merri picked the quill up and began looking the item over for any flaws.

Misha clapped her hands as she saw Merri's successful attempt. It was a beautiful black raven quill for Misha's eyes. "Congrats Merri!" she cheered as she saw her picked up the quill. "Don't worry, it looks pretty" she claimed when she saw Merri who looked like she was cautiously looking at the black quill.

Merri beamed back at Misha then stuck the pen into her bag. "Thanks! I think I like it too!" She slung her bag over her shoulder then waved at both of the girls she had been practicing with. "Nice to meet you both! I hope I get to see you around the school more often." With another wave she skipped out of the classroom, glad that her first class had been a success.
