PostSubject: Forgetfulness Potion [done]   Thu Feb 07, 2013 1:10 pm

Sora attended his Potions Class today. He prepared his stuff and started brewing something in his cauldron. He carefully followed the instructions the Professor gave them. He carefully measured the ingredients using the scale on his desk. Sora slowly dropped a couple of mistletoe berries, a Valerian sprig in his cauldron. Afterwards he poured a vial of Lethe River Water.

Today's curriculum was to brew a "Forgetfulness Potion". Sora didn't have any idea on what or where or how he would use such potion, but nevertheless, he continued working on it.

Nico decided to attend the Potions Class since his Professor at the History of Magic Class was furious at him.

He wasn't sure how to make potions and was not interested in the class at all. They were to brew a "Forgetfulness Potion".

Nico watched the other students brewing the potion. He wasn't sure which ingredient was which so he picked up a feather and dropped it in his cauldron. It was a Jobberknoll feather for all he know. Soon after, his potion was ready. A colorless, water-like fluid.

Sora was busy brewing his Forgetfulness potion for this class. Then he noticed a different smell coming from one of the cauldrons near his table. He looked at the direction where it came from, he was not disappointed to see Nicolai and with his colorless water-like fluid.

"What are you doing?" he asked the boy. "You were supposed to brew a Forgetfulness potion for today's class" Sora added.

"Eh?" he replied. Giving Sora an I-don't-care look. He was so bored in the class that he didn't mind what he puts in at his cauldron.

"Forgetfulness.. Hmm.." stirring his cauldron with his right hand, showing no interest at all. "I am brewing that.. err.. Forgetfulness thing." he added.

He starts to daydream. "There must be something exciting to do within these walls." he wonders.

"Liar" Sora responded. "How can that be Forgetfulness Potion since you just added Jobberknoll Feather" he said with his arms crossed.

Sora released a deep sigh. He then returned to watching his potion brew. Soon after his cauldron released a puffy white smoke. "That's ready" the Professor patted Sora's shoulders as he went to check how Sora was doing after seeing the smoke.

Then the Professor looked at Nico's cauldron. "Repeat from the top" he commented.

Irritated with what the Professor told him. He put a few more items in the cauldron. Suddenly, colors were changing from red to green to blue. Then smoke was getting thicker and thicker by the moment. Bubbles were emerging from the cauldron quickly as each second pass by.

"O-okay?? What is happening???" He uttered. The cauldron was about to explode. He quickly went under his table to find cover then suddenly there was a huge explosion. The icky gooey stuff from Nico's cauldron covered most of the classroom.

After much contemplating Ian decided he should at least observe one of the classes, and since potions was his favorite he made his way to the room. Stepping inside he eyes the students with a cool glare. They didn't look particularly interesting.

He found a desk and began to sit down when a potion exploded, most of it covered his face and clothes. "What the bloody hell?!" He cursed and narrowed his eyes looking for the student to argue with.

The whole class was a mess. Luckily, before the explosion, Sora took a hold of his cauldron's cover and used it to protect his self.

The Professor now looked furious. He looked at Nicolai and just released a sigh. He then turned around and said "Repeat from the top". The Professor won't let go of a student who fails in his class.

"How can you keep up with this" he asked Nico. Sora was pretty amazed at his expedition buddy continuously failing everytime.

Then he noticed a new student that popped in the class.

When he got up, he saw the class covered with the potion he brewed that exploded. The Professor told him to repeat his potion.

"Oh come on!" he replied. "This class is definitely boring!" he added.

Nico looked at Sora and simply shrugged his shoulders. He also noticed the new student who was furious of getting covered with the sticky goo he made. He didn't care less with what happened anyways so he made a new potion again.

Ian waved his wand, cleaning up the mess splattered on his clothes. "Stupid kid," he mumbled under his breath, trying not to let the situation get to him. "You shouldn't be brewing, not if you don't know how."

He sat back down, still grumbling to himself, and began to prepare a potion, a felix felicis potion. He leafed through the pages of his book then tossed it aside and set up his cauldron. Simple enough He thought as he crushed up the proper amounts of ingredients.

Sora raised an eyebrow upon observing the new kid.

He then shook his head after some time. "Professor" he raised his hand. "Ah! Sora. Since you are done with yours, you may start cleaning up your desk and leave if you wish to" the Professor remarked since today was only for brewing Forgetfulness Potion.

Sora cleaned up his desk. Soon after, he walked towards Nico to see how he was doing.

"You need help?" he asked.

"Tch!" a bit irritated. He was not really good at making potions since he was just accustomed to finding and tracking things on thr grounds instead of making and brewing stuff.

As he was busy trying to figure out the ingredients, he heard Sora. "Just tell which is which and I'll be fine." he replied.

"Say Sora, do you know the new kid? He's kinda arrogant." he looked at the boy with an errie stare.

Ian scoffed as he heard the other two students talking to one another, "I can hear you talking, I'm not deaf." He emptied the crushed ingredient into his cauldron then slowly began stirring as it turned into a curious shade of silver.

The professor approached his bench and gave him a look that clearly read, that's not the appropriate potion. "Don't even talk to me, I'm not in your class. I'm just practicing." He waved the professor away and turned on the heat for the cauldron.

Sora grabbed his copy of the steps on how to brew a Forgetfulness Potion. He handed a piece of parchment to Nico with a clean writing that states:

Add 2 drops of Lethe River Water to your cauldron
Gently heat for 20 seconds
Add 2 Valerian sprigs to your cauldron
Stir 3 times, clockwise
Wave your wand
Leave to brew and return in 45-60 minutes
Add 2 measures of Standard Ingredient to the mortar
Add 4 mistletoe berries to the mortar
Crush into a medium-fine powder using the pestle
Add 2 pinches of the crushed mixture to your cauldron
Stir 5 times, anti-clockwise
Wave your wand to complete the potion

"If you follow that correctly, you should be able to make it and pass today's task" he said to Nico. Sora also prepared the right amount of ingredients for him.

"Nope. Do not." he responded to Nico who was asking about the arrogant kid.

Getting annoyed by the new student, Oh! this kid is gonna get it one of these days!, he thought

He read the instructions at the piece of parchment Sora gave him. "This is kinda.. ugh.. many!" he whined. He did as what was written and finished brewing the potion. The Professor let him pass for the day.

"At last!" he yelled. "I'm soooo getting out here!" he then quickly left the room. But before he went out, he stared at the new student for a few second.

Ian continued on with his potion, adding ingredients and stirring as needed till the liquid thickened into a gorgeous gold hue. He grinned, more than happy with the result and filled a small vial with the substance. This will definitely come in handy. He noted with an amused look still on his face.

"Leaving so soon? Good thing your buddy helped you out huh." He met eyes with the other student then shrugged as he hurried to exit. "Will you be running off as well?" He asked the other remaining kid.

Sora fixed his things as soon as Nico was done with today's task. "My work here is done" he answered the other kid coldly with a sudden glimpse in his eyes.

"Congrats on whatever you have in there" Sora added as the new kid managed to brew a potion unrelated to today's task.

Then he slipped out of his desk and proceeded towards the exit.
