| GUIDE TO BEING A STUDENT
Hello there! I suppose you have chosen for your character to be a student. Before you go out mad-posting, there are a few things you need to know.
First, all students are required to be ultra-active.
We know it sounds a little weird, but we need students to be more active than ever! We need to keep Magica Academy running so that it won't be forced to shut down at any point in time.
Second, students don't have to start off as first years.
Students are now allowed to start off at any year that they want, but please know that each school year is about 3-5 weeks, so it will go by quickly. If you want to make your best of your student years, posting through each year would be reccommended, and you could always request to be moved to another year. Also know that students that don't start off as first years are sorted by their profiles. First years should post their sorting in the Great Hall.
Third, all students should join some type of club.
This is not required, but students should join some type of club at the academy. Whether it be Dueling, Potions, Glee, or something else, it is highly suggested that they do so. This gets them more coins so they can have enough for different events that come up.
Fourth, students are allowed to post with students of other years and dorms.
Unlike other schools, you are allowed to have classes with anyone of any dorm, and any year. This way was chosen because it enhances your experience in roleplay, and allows you to experience more than you thought you would, and that is the beauty of Magica Academy.
Fifth, students are only given detention when it is set up out of character.
When your character does something bad, like goes off grounds, they aren't "caught", until a professor asks them out of character could they issue their character detention. This is so no one gets confused of what goes on in roleplay.
Sixth, students could be added to mini-events at any time.
It is advised that you check the mini-events often, for your character could be "bitten by a basilisk", or "tickled by faries", at any time. The mini-events are announced here. This is also the first page you see when you enter the website from the main entrance. Of course you will be notified by PM what has happened to your character.
Seventh, heads of houses are not "site staff".
Please know that the heads of houses, and such, are not moderators of the forum. They are simply these roles in roleplay. Unless they are really moderators, and there is a list in the Introductions, Inbetweens, & Farewells forum. 
Eighth, students can have jobs in the academy.
Students are allowed to have jobs, like mentioned above, head of house, or even head of their dueling or potions club. The full list of these jobs can be viewed here.
