A Day to Remember [Demetri and Ivy, Valentine's Day!]

It was early in the morning, and hardly anyone would be around at the ice skating rink at this time. Yet, the was one lone figure to be seen, one of a girl wrapped up in a warm purple sweater and scarf. Ivy was carrying her pair of ice skates in her hands as she strode towards the circular expense of ice, still unmarred. She slipped her skates on before carefully stepping onto the ice, her hand gripping the edge of the rink's wall to keep herself up right. After a few moments of slipping and near falls, Ivy was able to skate wobbly at a leisurely pace round and round the rink, waiting for a certain boy. At least I won't have to look like an idiot when Demetri comes. It would have been so embarrassing if she fell right flat on her face in front of him. Speaking of Demetri, where was he? "The boy better not have overslept, considering he was the one who asked me to be here at such a time."

Demetri had a small smirk on his face as he leaned on the steel bar that was the rink's wall. He was wearing a comfortable outfit consisting of a grey scarf and cap with washed out black jeans and sweater. He smiled warmly as he watched his best friend slip and almost fall. Sometimes he was tempted to just skate over and hug her but where was the fun in that? He gave out a throaty chuckle when he heard her words. Who wouldn't have? They were the only two here, "Well princess, I've been in here for quite some time now. You just didn't notice poor me" the boy said, adopting a small pout.

I could learn to like this, Ivy thought as she managed a short stretch of skating without any wobbles. The feeling of gliding across the ice was intoxicating. Now if she didn't wobble so much. Feeling adventurous, the girl slowly brought down her hands from railing, and sucked in a short breath of surprise when she found that she didn't collapse to the ice immediately. Her lips shot up into a wide grin at how dry she still was until the corner came up. Shit! How do I turn again? Ivy braced herself as she neared the wall, but was distracted by a voice a few feet away.

"Demetri!--"

Ivy had turned her head so sharply at the direction of the voice that she immediately lost her balance. The movement upset the alignment of her legs and she felt her skates swerving madly. Her look of surprise morphed into panic as she flailed wildly and reached for the railing. Ivy's fingers quickly circled around the railing in front of her as she crashed into the wall of the rink, her arms curling around the railing to keep her upright. "Aha! My clothes are still dry!" The girl cheered victoriously, raising a fist in the air.

A look of shock passed the boy's face before it was replaced with one of relief. Really this girl... could be the emotional death of him. He shook his head and walked over to entrance of the rink, slid his feet into his skates and skated easily to where Ivy was, encircling his arms around her waist to keep her upright. "You are a strange girl" the boy mused at hearing her words. He held her close as one corner of his lips curled upward in a side smirk as he thought of letting her go this instant. Nah maybe she'll slap him and storm off if he did. "You should have told me you couldn't skate. What would happen if I wasn't here eh?" the boy suddenly said, staring intensely at the girl in her arms. "You could have crushed that pretty skull of yours. You should have told me so there was no harm" the boy said, panic in his eyes. He was being all... weird again. He couldn't help it when he was with her!

As Demetri practically glided over to her, Ivy envied and marveled at how skating seemed so easy for Demetri. Why did he have to be so good in everything? Still, she straightened herself and relaxed when she felt his arms around her waist, making her steady. "I'm not strange," Ivy retorted, her grin plastered on her face like an idiot, " I'm unique, learn the difference!" She chuckled softly, but it faded away as she met his panicked, intense gaze. "Relax, I've been told I have a hard head." She joked, poking him in the cheek. "Besides, they put railings here for a reason, don't they? And you're here now, I'll be fine." Just try not to cry if I accidentally make you fall. Yes, Demetri would make a good deterrent to keep her clothes dry if she fell.

He pursed her lips at her when she poked his cheek before placing a quick kiss of his own to hers, smiling all goofy when he pulled back. "Very unique indeed." the boy said as he looked into her eyes. He knew it was probably cheesy but he could just get lost in her eyes and not give a damn. "Have I ever told you that you're the most beautiful girl I've met?" the boy suddenly followed up before blinking and drawing her close, whispering his next words in her ear, "But don't tell Yas, Jas or my mum I said that"

The boy resisted the urge to bury his face against her hair and catch a whiff of the scent that was truly her. "Okay. I'll relax" he said, reluctance evident in his voice as well as his eyes. "As long as you keep close though!"

Ivy beamed after he kissed her; a blush rising to her cheeks. Even after all this while, she still couldn't get over the thrill he gave her. A mischievous glint sparked in her dark eyes as she leaned into him, and asked, " Can I tell your dad?" He'd probably think Demetri was lost in the clouds and going soft, probably. How would I know? I haven't even met his dad yet. Or his mom. Woah woah, it was too soon for meeting the parentals, wasn't it? Bad Ivy, bad! What if they didn't like her? Why am I worrying about this? Come on Ivy, stop being an idiot! She shook her head slightly at herself, before twisting slightly to face Demetri once more.

"Come on, spider boy, you brought me here to skate, not to wrap me up in bubble wrap," She giggled, nudging his chest with her shoulder.

He narrowed his own eyes when he saw that mischievous sparkle in her eyes. Uh oh... What is she up to now... the boy thought before he paled at his words, "Oh dear god no! He'd tell mom! Always the tattle tale pansy" the boy whined in a child-like manner. He moved to lift her up, slowly twirling her about as he skated, "He always gets Yas, Jas, and I in trouble!" the boy added with a pout. An involuntary shiver went through his body at the mention of 'spider' "I am not an eight legged creature of death!" the boy said before spinning her around to face him, a grin on his face as he pulled her close again, "Besides. I like bubble wrap and all but I love wrapping you in my arms much better!"

Ivy smirked widely at the obvious changes in Demetri's pallor. She found it amusing, really, how a mention of his father could send him into a state like this. "Your dad sounds like a very nice man!"Ivy chirped innocently, sending a wink along Demetri's way. "Oh my, I wonder what your father would do if he found out what you said about him," A sly glance. "Hmm, I could write him a letter informing him of his son's image of him... She raised an eyebrow, somehow managing to not burst out into laughter. Then she giggled, which eventually led to a chuckle, then full out laughing. Her laughter was cut short abruptly when he spun her around, and lifted her up so her skates were no longer on the ice. She let out a small squeak and her hands encased his wrists in a death grip.

She was going to let a sigh of relief when he lowered her, but he did it the wrong way, so she was skating backwards. "Demetri!" Ivy meeped, trying to get her legs in working order. They kept messing up and she would have fallen by now, if not for Demetri. "Well, that's good, because I love bubble wrap too. And your arms don't stink." She looked up from her feet, trying to ignore her constant jerking and mini sensations of falling as she wrapped her arms around his waist to try and keep herself upright. "By the way, there's a chance that I might make you fall ]today, so beware."
