Merrick had been freaking out lately. Someone had recommended to the Headmaster that he become the Head of House for Liquidium and he had received the owl that he was to assume that position. He wasn't sure what that all entailed but it wasn't going to be easy. He had gone up to the library to attempt to find a book that might help him boost his confidence about what new responsibilities that he was going to have to deal with.

Edward saw a boy lurking about in the Library. "Looking for something?" he asked after walking over to him.

Merrick had been looking through some books on leadership when a voice spoke to him. He was startled slightly but he turned around. One of the Professors was talking to him as he spoke, softly, "Hi, Sir," Merrick said as he spoke again, "I was looking for some leadership books, I'm now the Head of House for Liquidum and it scares me to death." Merrick's cheeks turned rosy red with embarrassment since he was admitting this to a Professor.

"I'm Professor Sylvanus by the way," he said. "I teach Astronomy.. Also known as the study of space and stars..." He waved his hand, and a book appeared. "Dragonsbane's Guide To Leadership Excellency." he read. "Written by the Headmaster himself. I'm sure he wouldn't mind you using it. This is really a teacher's only book.. But you can check it out under my name." he stated.

Merrick smiled at the Professor. He was going to help Merrick out which is exactly what he needed. "Thank you sir," Merrick said with a nod of his head, "Maybe you could check the book out and loan it to me. That way the librarian won't get mad at me for trying to do something under your name. And that way, I'll get to get to see you again?" Merrick said, biting his lower lip.

"Sure," he said. "Meet me in the Astronomy Tower." he stated. He walked over to the Librarian's front desk, greeted them, and checked out the book. Then he waited for Merrick to exit first so they wouldn't look suspicious and then he could do so as well.

Merrick walked out of the library with his bag over his shoulder. He stood outside of the doors, waiting for the Professor to come out with the book so that he would be able to use it.

Edward walked outside the Library. "Here you go," he said, and handed him the book.

Merrick accepted the book as he held it in his hands. "Thank you so much, Professor." Merrick said with a big grin on his face. He almost wanted to cry with glee as he spoke again, "How can I ever pay you back for this?"

"Meet me at Three Broomsticks. I have a room for us." he said.

Merrick was a bit surprised but he was going to try to roll with it. "A room for us? What do you mean by that? And what time do you want me there?"'

"So we can talk, I can offer you a beer and such, you seem like a good kid." he said and laughed a bit. "I don't bite." he stated, joking around.

Merrick's cheeks turned red, he had totally misunderstood the Professor's intentions with saying he would get a room for them. "Sure, sure, that sounds good. I'll be there." He said as he turned around, just so the Professor didn't see how totally embarrassed that he had gotten.

Edward smiled as the young boy walked away.
