Samantha saw the new student, and she looked a little lost. She got up from the table and walked over to her.

"Need some help finding anything?" she asked.

Merri was standing in front of a long shelf of books that all had to do with the history of magic. She picked up a large book and sneezed as dust flew everywhere. Wrinkling her nose she stared down at the long and boring text, surely some of these books have pictures as well. The teacher had wanted images to go along with their essay and she was having a rather difficult time picking out something that would work.

Merri shoved the large book back onto the shelf and took down another equally lengthy book. As she blew the dust from the cover she turned and coughed as the dust went everywhere. "Sorry," she managed to gasp out before waving the cloud of dust out of the way.

She grinned at the girl. "Yep. History of magic. Though don't expect to find many illustrations! These authors are quite boring." She wrinkled her nose then laughed.

Merri gave a sheepish look at the girl and dropped her voice so the Librarian that was passing by wouldn't hear her. "I'm not fond of history classes." She reached back up and grabbed a handful of smaller books, almost dropping all of them in the process. "I mean look at all the dust they are covered in. I don't think many people read these..."

"My name is Merri," she replied as she thumbed through several more pages of the books she had picked up. "That for studying or homework?" She asked as she pointed at the book Ana was holding.

Merri's eyes grew wide and the thought of studying early, especially for a history class. She frowned then shook her head, "I don't understand. You want to study material ahead of the class?" She looked shocked but a little impressed. "I can try and help."

Merri pointed towards a large table that had a few other students seated at it. They all appeared to be studying or at least attempting to. "How about we sit over there?" She grabbed a few more books from the shelf then walked over to the table and sat down.

"Quill?" She offered and took out an assortment of quills then placed them on the table. With a soft sigh she took out some notes then began to unravel a fairly long piece of parchment. There were several blank spots left open where she could copy examples. "I need pictures of spells used incorrectly." She frowned and began to look through the books she had chosen.

"Alright, So" Ana said before sat at the table pulling out the book "So, Just try to think of what may of happened like...A patronus going wrong, My mom once had that happen to her, Instead of her hawk it was a duck! Funny right? I think that only happens when you do it to a human, Or worse, A picture, Not alive of course, of a human, Ya"Ana said.Ana sighed as she pulled out some notes quickly, A muggle's Sticky notes "Hopefully these sticky notes work" she muttered to her self as she borrowed one of her quills and started writing stuff down

Merri nodded, "At least it was just a patronus acting strange. It could have probably been worse." She grinned and flipped quickly through some pages before pausing and waving her wand over the photo. With a flick of her wand she mumbled a spell and then the picture copied onto her essay. "So glad that I can use magic instead of muggle copying machines!" She giggled and continued slowly copying appropriate photos for a bit. "So what exactly are you doing?" She looked up from her work and stared at some of the sticky-notes.

Merri nodded, she was muggle-born so she had seen sticky notes before, but she had never thought to use them for taking notes. "That's a really smart idea!" Suddenly getting a thought of her own, she began to flip through a large book then grinned cheerfully and copied more picture. "Take that history essay!" She rolled up her parchment.

"Do you need any help with your work?"
Merri asked after packing up her essay.
